starts from KC narrating “That person asked me…” Scene of KC meeting with SS when SS asks what do you want to live as now.
then KC goes out and meets YW. she asks what SS said. KC narrates “so I asked her - why” flashback of YW telling her dad KC did nothing wrong and disobeying her dad to take KC’s hand. KC narrates: why are you so good to me. YW: just cuz – for your sake I want to do anything – that is my heart now. KC narrates: I want to be a person. I want to be a person again.

PJ says you cant so YW says I will never be lenient – I will train him twice – no – three times more severely than other teachers father. just leave it up to me. PJ asks Gon to be in charge of training KC. she steps up and says how Gon and KC cant be left alone together – as soon as they meet each other’s gaze all they think about is fighting each other so she has to stand between them maintain control and train (KC) together with him (Gon). PJ warns her: do you want to see KC get kicked out? you have to know the more you are like that KC’s situation gets harder.  Gon tells PJ that YW is correct over this matter- he and KC totally are not on good terms. plus that kid listens (obeys) when she is there.  so please give permission so I can train KC together with her.
They take the bag of beans to KC and tell him how they are going to manage him starting from today and to count all the beans in the bag. Gon smirks watching KC look miserable.
SS sort of sounds like the lyrics to a joseon style country song as he says “how can you stop a heart that is flowing – how do you stop the wind when it’s blowing.” PJ says I am worried about the scar those two kids will have when they find out later that I killed KC’s dad. SS says something profound: thinking of being uneasy brings about an uneasy future. what we have to do -we grownups shouldnt block the road young kids have to go on.  we have to open up the road (pave the way) so that they can go down a better path/direction
KC’s counting up to 1230 something as YW asks how his birth mom passed away. do you know nothing at all. KC says you are confusing me so she says sorry. he resumes counting. but she says you already counted that one so he starts over. she says if it was me I would be really curious. even though your dad’s side was like that you could have found out about your mother’s side. what household she was from or if you have relatives. KC: that person threw away her blood in the river so I am not curious at all about a person like that.
GW asks how his guests like their residence and would have prepared more if he knew that person was coming here herself. the woman is in the room as GW talks to the guy. GW brags and says how everything is in his hands (as in he is in control of the Inn and other places) so the Japanese guy says not everything -there are still things out of your reach. GW asks if he is talking about SS and that it’s not a problem and it wont take long.
GW goes outside and tells SB that those people know a lot about what’s going on around here. he tells SB to be on alert cuz they might have a rat (someone inside feeding info outside). GW seems surprised about the position the woman is holding cuz he thought it would be a guy
the guy asks if the woman with the hat is ok but she doesn’t answer
the wind blows and KC wonders what that is. YW: what?
in the woods WR wakes up as the woman sits there
KC gets up in shock and knocks over the bag of beans. his hands shake and drop the chopsticks. she asks what’s wrong – do you not feel well. he says I don’t know-something is strange – why am I like this – suddenly I am so scared.
KC goes to see Gong. Gong does a reflex test and says something is off about KC’s energy so he needs to drink some special water. he makes KC drink. KC asks are you running a medicine business. gong goes on about how it’s a dream of his and once his successor is found at school to take over for him he is going to travel around selling medicine. KC makes some joke so gong tries to take the water back but KC drinks it up. YW asks if gong has someone in mind to be his successor so Gong looks at KC and says there is one guy my eyes are going towards but his temper is bad.  KC says you cant control bad tempered guys with words you have to hit them everyday to fix their bad behavior. should I beat that guy for you? Gong hits him and says no – just go and count those beans.  he walks off as KC asks is my head the neighborhood hitting post. why do you always hit me? YW: you said only hitting could teach. KC: what? YW: never mind – just go and count the beans.
Sung (the kid from the kitchen) runs into KC and gets scared. he makes an excuse about forgetting to bring something and runs off. KC says hello to other students but they ignore him. he apologizes to kim – the one he tried to choke. sorry for what happened last time- I lost my senses and went overboard. the guy says you dont have to be sorry to me cuz I attacked you first.but i couldnt help it cuz it was my first time seeing a monster.
TS goes to see PJ. gong and gon are there too. PJ says I called you cuz I have something to give you so sit down. your father wanted me to give this to you. he puts down a small wrapped object. TW picks it up
flashback to MS telling PJ if something happens to me give this to TS. PJ: why are you saying such things. MS says there is no way to know what will happen. please give this and relay my words.  that I love him a lot and treasure him.  I would be grateful if he became a great daejangbu (one of the men of honor) and took over the Inn
Gong explains about the object. an ID as one of the men of honor. among the teachers/masters here – he (MS) was the real one. how MS saved starving citizens with the money he made and did things for the sake of the country.  PJ says I am giving you that cuz I wanted you to accept what your father wanted – also for the info I will entrust on you to get from here on.  the decision is up to you to take that task and we will respect your decision. TS asks please tell me – what is it that you want me to do. PJ says become GW’s person. TS is shocked
KC is counting beans up to 4860 something and remembers how the kid was scared of him and how that guy Kim called him a monster. YW fell asleep next to him so he lets her lean on his shoulder. KC says to tell the truth - I am curious too what kind of people my parents were who made me like this - how I ended up thrown away in the river. if I keep thinking about it –without me knowing that I might resent them or hate them that’s why (I don’t think about it). she woke up and heard that. KC: still thanks YW for asking. she smiles but he thinks she is sleeping still. KC looks out and wonders what that was earlier
at night in the forest WR is walking around in the dark. he goes to the cave.
TS looks at the object and remembers how PJ said you have to put your life on the line for this work – can you handle it. KC comes over and calls out his name. the two of them sit and talk. TS: how much did my father know about you. KC doesn’t know cuz TS’s father never said about that (KC’s gumiho side). TS: what does it feel like to change into that form. KC explains how his mind goes hazy – how his whole body hurts like it’s burning -  I become sensitive to everything -how everything moves -I can see and hear sound at the same time.  maybe that’s why – I get really hungry. he laughs so TS does too. TS asks even in that moment can you remember you are KC. KC says at first I couldn’t remember, but after a while I got used to it and knew it was me and remember. after that I could control my emotions.  to tell the truth YW helped a lot. she saw me like that but wasn’t repulsed or scared of me. she kept calling me KC so it kept making me remember I was KC. it’s strange but when I am with her my heart becomes very comfortable, my pain goes down, and without a reason my anger subsides. TS says you love her. KC absentmindedly says yes but then realizes what he just said so he backtracks and says “huh? no -what do you mean love -to that kid? me? that’s not it at all TS ya. TS says you dont have to deny it – even if you do have feelings of love - she is a girl it wont be weird to have those feelings about. KC: it’s not like that I said. she is just – what do I say.  TS: if it’s cuz of CJ. dont worry about it. to you – now CJ is…TS remembers seeing CJ in GW’s room so TS says now she is someone in the past. KC asks what are you talking about – a person from the past. you and CJ could never be someone from the past to me. you are my onlyfamily and friend -people I should protect. but TS says to shed that now -from the moment father passed away – you and me and CJ -our lives were divided into other fates. like you cant turn back time, a fate that has already been divided cant be turned back. KC: even though you cant turn back, you can get it back. I am going to get back the lord’s (reputation), the Inn, and the family. TS: that is for me to do. KC: the lord passed away in my place – while blocking me. TS: if it wasnt you – he would have done it for someone else and blocked. cuz father was that kind of person. so it’s not your fault KC. up to now – the kindness you have shown to my family and others – even with that much I am so grateful that I dont know how to handle it. so dont hold onto our ankles anymore and live your life. as much as the Inn is precious you are our precious friend. he put his hand on KC’s shoulder as his friend
YW goes to his room and asks are you inside KC? she looks and he isnt there. she overhears other students talking about KC. they dont feel easy about having to be trained with someone like him. what if he suddenly changes form and attacks one of us. also last night he disappeared to somewhere and returned early in the morning. we cant leave this alone. they are scared to have KC around and want to chase him out.
Gon is in the room alone when KC quietly showed up so Gon drew his sword
in the woods a man is walking and hears rustling and asks who is there. WR shows up so the man flees. he is chased and hides behind a tree but WR is there and kills the man. WR chokes him and takes his life  so WR can look more human (his skin softened from gumiho to human)
SR is giving CJ drum lessons – dont grip tightly and grip lightly and the arms should look like a butterfly as she hits and where CJ’s feet stance should be. the practice is interrupted by WS so SR tells CJ not to look elsewhere during practice. SR says not to interrupt lessons and ignores WS when WS complains why CJ is getting lessons instead of her. SR keeps teaching CJ and tells her to straighten her back and stick in her chin more. WS goes over and throws down the sticks CJ was holding. SR asks what are you doing-pick those up right now. WS says I am the head gisaeng. but SR points out what does the head gisaeng do the best. she lists how WS naps - laughs the most when she mistreats others. if that is what the head gisaeng does then it is correct you are the head gisaeng here. WS asks why are you looking down on me – what did I do so wrong. SR says WS had more fun in the arms of men and pouring their drinks. and the only reason why she wanted to learn to play the instrument was to look good in front of men. that she cant pass on her knowledge about the drum to someone like her who will just treat it as a temp play toy. SR tells CJ to keep practicing what she learned and I will check tm. SR walks out. CJ tells WS to move aside cuz I have to practice. WS asks cuz you have SR’s support- do you dare to boss me around. CJ makes a crack about WS’s face – dont get so angry cuz you look terrible. so WS slaps her. CJ slaps back and threatens WS and warns her not to touch her face again.  she resumes practice like WS isnt there.
maid is asking SR about what happened to CJ cuz she changed so much so SR says don’t ask anything and dont be curious. dont you hear?  that girl is crying sadly right now
CJ cries as she drums
YW watches KC still trying to count but falling asleep. she goes over and waves her hand in front of his face and then gets ready to poke his eyes but grabs her wrist and knocks her down on the ground and pins her. KC: what is this? was it you? YW: yes it was me. he asks why she was hanging around in front of his eyes. YW: I was just kidding around cuz you were falling asleep. hurry and move. she tries to get up, but he pins her down and says how she shouldnt be kidding around as one of the instructors – so how will the school be able to train properly. you need to be punished. he puts his arm on her chest so she tells him to remove it. he teases she is too weak for an instructor. so she bites his hand. he yells holding his injured hand. she gets up and retorts he shouldnt have been playing around. KC: so did you have to bite me? YW: be grateful cuz I was going to kick where it really hurts, but I only bit lightly. KC retorts with sarcasm: I’m so grateful tears are blocking my view. she asks where he disappeared to last night so he says I was feeling stuffy so I got some air. YW: for the past two days I heard you go somewhere out as soon as it’s night. the students are worried. KC doesnt think they are worrying. she explains: the others dont you well so just like it took time for you to accept me they need time to accept you. you know that right? he leans in and says do you know you nag a lot these days. YW: did I? sorry. KC: also do you know this? YW: what else? he leans closer and says right now you are like a girl. why are you so calm – shouldn’t it be normal for you to throw a punch right about now. YW: are you playing around right now? she makes a fist just then but the kid runs over and says a dead person was found in the woods. KC: a person died? the kids says yes- three people. their deaths are so strange it doesn’t seem like a person did it
the 3 corpses are examined with a crowd watching. SJ sees that
GW and SB are talking about the unusual murders. SB asks when do you want to let the police know but GW says it’s not time yet. let him go crazy over the scent of blood. GW wants strange rumors about KC spread even more so the fear will spread.
SS is giving orders to his guard. my guess is about the murders. the man might as well have spoken some other language cuz all I got was to keep people’s mouths closed.
KC faces all the students. they have something to ask.
YW asks her dad to stop the students before things get out of hand.  he says if I interfere and calm the students down – how long do you think that will last. over this there is nothing you or I can do for KC. KC has to earn their trust on his own
the students ask couldnt you tell us – for the past two days - you left the school at night secretly - where did you go. KC: why should I answer that? kim asks didnt you hear. some murdered bodies were discovered in the woods. KC: so? kim: the deaths are strange and don’t seem like something done by a person. what do you think of that? KC asks are you saying I did it. the leader says it’s not that we are saying that for sure but KC says it is. isnt that why you all gathered to question me. leader says we are just curious about your recent behavior so tell us. KC: I dont want to  – to people who are already assuming I did it – what’s the point about explaining I didn’t do it. it will only seem like I am making excuses. even if I do make an excuse – it’s not like you will believe me. the student argues our suspicions will just get bigger if you dont say anything. KC: it doesnt matter. this isnt new.  a bunch of people gathering and making one person into a fool -it’s something I’ve had to endure since childhood so suspect if you want to suspect. kim says to the leader – what did I say – I told you words wouldnt work. one student insults KC for not acting human cuz he isnt human so KC grabs him and says when I see people like you I get angry and annoyed too. gong yells for KC to let go. all the others draw their swords. gong comes over and scolds the students for drawing their swords on a fellow student. did the master teach you that? did I teach you that?  he orders them to put their swords away. he makes KC let go of the guy. gong says to the head student – as the leader he shouldnt have let this happen and control the others better. Kim says it’s not the leaders fault. he only followed what we wanted. . the students say it was wrong to begin with to put someone who isnt human among them. if all of them have to be uncomfortable cuz of one person that isnt fair. gong asks for evidence that KC imposed on them – also that the proof that KC caused the deaths in the woods. if you bring even once piece of evidence KC did it then I will kick KC out myself. kim asks can you promise? gong: if your assumptions and suspicions are wrong you all kneel in front of KC and beg forgiveness. how about it? each side should put something on the line for a bet to be interesting-how about it?
KC asks how could you make that bet on your own. gong asks why – if KC’s conscience is bothering him(as in KC feels guilty cuz he did something bad). KC: not at all. gong: then what are you so worried about?  KC says this is just a nuisance cuz now all the students will be keeping an eye on him. gong asks if that is a nuisance then just tell all of them where he has been going at night for the past two days.  KC: I will be going now. Gong: do you want to stay here for a long time with YW?  KC turns around so gong says then learn to get along with others well first.
gon is waiting outside when KC comes out. he says just to reveal it and come clean now,  but KC turns around and says you startled me. you didnt tell YW yet right? gon: you said to keep it a secret. KC: that’s right – it is a secret- until I say it’s ok - no matter what don’t tell anyone. got that? see you later. he runs off and YW comes over and asks gon – what is it? gon: what are you talking about? YW: what is that secret talk with KC? gon says there is no secret. she says look at this – your gaze is shaking. while I am saying it nicely -reveal it – what is the secret
SR goes to the Inn to meet with GW. she asks why he wanted to meet her. he says to discuss the festival in a few days cuz he has important guests and wants it to be special. she already knew about his guests from abroad so he says you always found out news quickly. she says a lot of people drop by the gisaeng house so she hears things. (gets a lot of news from people who overheard) he wants to see her play the drums so she says it’s been 10 yrs since she stopped doing that but GW wants her to do it again cuz his guest requested that especially. flashback shows the man asking GW to ask SR to play the drums. the woman in the hat is making that request
KC sneaks outside at night and kim follows him. the other one tells kim to be careful.
KC senses he is being followed and runs off.
kim hears something in the bush and asks who is there and sees WR’s eyes glow red so kim runs off scared.   KC comes over and tells him to be quiet. WR shows up hidden behind some leaves so KC asks who are you - come out. WR growls. KC’s bracelet glows red. kim says I think he has disappeared. KC says so why did you follow me. kim: cuz you are acting suspicious each night. YW comes over and says there is nothing to be suspicious about. cuz KC sensed some strange energy in the woods, he went on patrol with Gon ever since the day before. KC accuses gon of not being able to keep secrets -why didnt you just go around telling the whole neighborhood? gon: it wasnt cuz I couldnt keep secrets. YW says I am just good at getting secrets out. why keep this a secret? and get suspicions from the others. KC says I dont know the identity yet so I didnt want to alarm for nothing. they are already scared of me but if they know about someone that hasnt been identified going around killing it will cause more uproar. YW asks if Kim understands now. she makes kim keep it a secret from the other students until the identity of the culprit in the woods is known. you can do that much right? kim agrees
SJ senses something in his home and goes down to his library calling out did someone come in? he sees WR in the dark and asks who is it? WR steps up and says it’s me. SJ: are you WR? WR: yes it’s me. he smiles but it’s evil.
next day at the school KC goes into eat and there is a table set apart from the others. he sits down to eat but the others scoot down. one of them gets up and leaves. KC yells I will eat well. kim goes over and eats across from KC.
gong is outside talking about how if you look at it – it seems like thousands but if you look carefully there is just one
YW opens a box and there is a hanbok inside.
YW tells him about the lantern festival and how she is thinking of going down to the village at night and hanging a lantern with her wish. dont you want to go with me? KC agrees to go. she tells him where to meet. he asks aren’t we going down together but she says I have some business in the village first so let’s meet at night later. he smiles when she leaves. he lost count again and starts over with the beans. the kid comes over and says a guest came. it’s CJ’s former maid.
the gisaengs are talking about the festival and how CJ is going to be chosen so they worry “what about WS?”
CJ is dressed as a gisaeng for her rite. she narrates about her name and her new gisaeng name and how she is going to live as a gisaeng from now on. SR says with this you are now a formal gisaeng here.
the maid says how CJ told her not to tell others but I thought you should know so I ran over– she will become a full fledged gisaeng and attend the festival so you should meet her once. KC takes off running
CJ is taken down the street riding on a horse covered with flowers. the man yells for people to get out of the way. KC runs out and sees her. CJ goes to the Inn and all her former servants cry over her. she gets off the horse and looks up at the Inn. SR gets out and watches CJ and says don’t let your feelings be known. aside from a smile – wipe away other emotions from your face. CJ is about to take a step when KC calls out to her. she looks for him among the crowd and sees him. she turns away and wont turn around even though he calls her name right behind her. she controls her emotions and turns around asking formally “what is it that you need from me. if you need to see me then come to the gisaeng house.” she goes inside the Inn.
KC sits outside the Inn
YW is dressed in hanbok and looking for him in the village
it gets dark and she is still looking for him. he is walking back in the dark and remembers how she asked him to hang a lantern with her and how she would wait in the village. he takes off running and looks for her
YW gets angry waiting and kicks a basket. it hits some older men so she says sorry like a guy would. she mutters “what is this – did he forget the time?” suddenly she sees KC coming and says “it’s KC.” he runs past her and knocks her cover off. he doesnt recognize her. he says “sorry” in a hurry and was about to run off but she calls his name so he stops and turns around to look at her. he takes in her whole outfit. she smiles and says you are late. he just stands there stunned as she smiles at him. he is too flabbergasted to speak
SS’s voice narrates: how can you stop a heart that’s flowing – how can you stop the wind that’s blowing.

WR stares at KC with YW and asks: who is it? I asked who is that kid.
GW looks at the woman in the hat and says how she looks familiar – that he almost mistook her for someone
YW: that you hurry and find the gu family book and become a person – it’s my wish
YW walks away from KC and he runs after her
YW: she is the most precious person to you huh? and that meaning will never change
TS says I decided – I will go to the Inn
KC: who are you?
WR grins at KC
WR: ask me why I came back – for the sake of destroying everything.

For someone who lost his real father even before birth, KC is not running out of father figures. Men he can look up to and respect cuz they respected him back. Watching him pour his heart out to SS and have the wise man give him comforting words and advice just made my tears brim to the surface along with KC. I feel like he is so blessed to have someone like SS in his life along with his steady source of solace YW as KC wades through the most trying time of his life. Up to now, I couldn’t wait for his real father to come back, but now that I saw a glimpse of what’s in store for us next week, I sort of wish WR would stay put and not complicate KC’s life even more. I feel an avalanche of events headed our way and the only hope I can hang onto to brace myself is KC and YW’s undying faith in each other – wonder if it’s enough though.

starts from PJ asking if that kid can really become human – will he really not be dangerous around people. SJ says you are worried about your daughter. I told her if she could avoid it to avoid it. cuz between the two one could die. to avoid it. PJ: could die? SJ says fate that has already started – it cant be stopped by a human’s strength – it’s not something that should be stopped. but all PJ hears is “could die”
KC is chained up and calls out to CJ and she calls out to him. TS comes over as KC’s voice tells gong that could never happen - TS and CJ would never betray me. TS says I came to cut your throat KC- forgive me KC. KC tells him not to take the bracelet off but he does. KC feels pain. the wind rustles and gains strength around them.
YW stops and Gon asks what’s wrong. she says didn’t you hear that sound. he says no I didnt hear it.
KC changes form and breaks the chains. CJ and TS are more terrified than the others. M tries to kill him but KC just knocks him down. TS attacks and KC wounds him. he looks down at his hands and looks over at TS. KC calls out TS and takes a step but she throws leaves and rocks at him saying get away – get away from my brother – get away. dont come close – get away. I don’t like you.
YW and Gon run over
CJ faints. KC keeps calling her name. M gets up to attack again with his men when KC is distracted but KC senses it.
there is fighting and yelling off screen
YW and Gon get there and the men are all wounded. YW asks what happened to you. M says KC. Gon shows her the bead bracelet. that guy changed again and I dont see CJ
TS staggers in the wood bleeding saying CJ-  my sister. He falls down
SS shows up and says KC left? PJ: yes he did. SS asks how? when I left him in your care cuz i trusted you so how? PJ says I couldnt contain him. if I keep a kid I cant control -that the bowl would break. SS: that wasnt the problem it was your heart. student reports urgent news about GW’s men near that location. SS asks if that is where KC went. student says yes. PJ says call Gon but the guy says I cant see him from a while ago. PJ: what?
gon and YW hide and see GW’s men and she thinks they are chasing KC too – how did they know where KC was headed. we better hurry Gon. he says but how do we know where he is. YW: I know where they would have gone (KC and CJ)
KC took CJ to the cave in the garden. she wakes up and he says it’s me KC. she says you are KC –how? weren’t you human? KC: sorry for showing you this side. she cries and says where is my brother. did you kill my brother. did you do that? he gets up but she says go away – don’t get close. you aren’t KC. there is no way KC would be a monster like you. he wouldn’t have killed brother. she runs out
she doesn’t know how to leave and hears KC screaming inside so she just runs in any direction
YW and gon run over
CJ is running through the woods.
GW’s men are giving chase
CJ falls down and stops.
YW says what’s going on- there was a road here for sure to the moonlight garden- why cant I see the road. gon says we passed this way a while ago.
SB says who is this. aren’t you the dead Inn girl. she is surrounded by his men
SR hears they are looking but couldnt find her yet. SR says the longer it takes CJ will be in danger. her servant says I dont know what’s going on but GW’s men are all over the woods.
GW looks at all the men wounded in M’s group. he asks if all of this was KC’s doing. M says you might not believe it but it really is. as soon as TS took his bracelet off in a flash he changed into a monster. CJ listens as M says KC changed. how he kept attacking them without stopping. GW remembers WR. SB thinks KC could be the son of the deceased SH –cuz he is about the age since it was 20yrs ago. GW: nonsense – how could that happen. he asks CJ where is KC now. she says I don’t know. SB says she was lost in the woods and we caught her. she really didn’t know the way. they bring TS over. she tries to go to him but they hold her back. GW says you try to run away from me. did you think that was possible. TS begs free my sister – I will do everything you ask so please. GW says drag him away to jail. CJ says don’t but GW says then remember where KC was but she says I really cant remember. cuz the woods all look alike so I cant find the way. GW says then your brother’s neck will be hanging by tm morning. he orders TS dragged away. GW says to SB – I have a place to drop by so clean up this mess and follow me. SB says what should I do with her so GW says take her to his place.
M says let’s go but SB’s men kill all of M and his men. CJ watches horrified
GW goes to see PJ. GW says it’s been a long time. PJ says I heard you were at the Inn. GW says but you didn’t visit once. that makes me sad.  PJ asks why did you come. GW asks why didnt you kill SH 20 yrs ago. why didnt you kill her there and leave an offspring.  PJ says I wont kill an innocent with my sword. GW asks so you left it alone so that monster could be born – Choi KC. so he really is SH’s son. isnt he? PJ says go back now but GW puts his hand on his shoulder asking what are you thinking to cover for KC (as in support and watch over him). arent you the one who killed his father. what are you  planning. his students say take your hand away but PJ orders them to put their swords back. PJ says you should go now that would be good. GW says I know you are planning something with the admiral. that he knows they took the 5000 nyang and something about what they are making -something smells suspicious.  if you and him are planning treason (i dont know the rest)  PJ orders his students to draw their swords. GW makes a threat about how one day he will make PJ realize something. GW and his men leave
PJ goes in and tells SS to stay here and then go down to the mountain early tm. cuz GW might have put a lookout.
Gon says it’s really late and to go back now but she says I am worried about him cuz the bracelet is gone he will be very troubled right now
KC sits in the cave and remembers CJ saying you aren’t KC he wouldn’t be a monster like you. he looks at his wrist
KC goes out where M’s men lay dead. KC looks everywhere for the bracelet. he sniffs and smells that YW had been here. he is about to leave when M says save me. KC is about to leave but turns back to M. M says save me. KC: why should I when you tried to kill me so why should I save you. M: I was wrong – I committed a sin that deserves death. KC says how M took money from the poor and sided with GW so it’s better I let you die to do a favor for the world so just die. M yells out please save me once so KC stops and turns back. he takes out the knife from M and holds it out so M screams.
SS is sitting and writing something.
at night the students are on guard and one tells the kid to go in now but the kid says no I’m still ok. the guy says to do it for another hour and then go in.
KC sneaks in and the kid runs over asking who is there. KC is surrounded and they all ask who are you. KC hides his face. they say to reveal yourself. he stands and faces them. they back off scared.
PJ comes out and asks what is going on. KC growls at him
SS senses something outside
student tells PJ it’s KC. PJ remembers WR when he killed the men. PJ goes over and asks why did you show up like this. KC says I came to meet YW – let me meet YW. PJ says no not in that state. KC yells I have to meet YW. a student attacks so KC takes him down and pins his neck. he says stay back if someone tries to kill me I will kill too. PJ yells what are you doing - let him go right now. KC: I dont want to. PJ: must you take a life? KC: that I have to do it first – now I know. PJ: I have no choice but to cut you down then. he pulls his sword and says I will say it one more time let him go. YW yells you cant father.  no father you cant – put your sword back. PJ says cant you see he isnt human now so move. she says I dont want to. you said in the world there are no bad people – just bad situations. KC is like that too – he didnt change cuz he was bad -  it’s just that he is in a bad situation. you know that so please put the sword away. KC has no fault he didn’t do anything wrong. her words make KC let the guy go and KC stands up. PJ says it’s an order as the master – move aside. don’t you hear me – move back. she goes over and takes KC’s hand and holds on tight. KC looks over at her. she intertwines their fingers while looking at her dad and says no I wont stay back – ever. KC says her name in his head. he keeps looking at her and his eyes go back to normal as the rest of him does too. everyone is shocked. YW looks over at KC as SJ’s voice says a fate that already started cant be stopped with a person’s strength. it’s not something to stop. YW and KC smile at each other.
PJ puts his sword down.
SS watched that
PJ goes in and puts his sword down
KC has the bracelet on and meets with SS. SS says I heard you left with someone. KC says she saw my real self and ran away. SS: was she that kind of girl.  KC says someone i believed was a brother betrayed me and the one I gave all my sincerity to threw rocks at me. those people I thought were my precious family rejected me. SS says didnt you know – the ones who hurt you the most are the people closest to you. cuz you love you get hurt too.  KC says she called me a monster. he cries. SS says it’s not important how others see you just how you think of yourself is more important. KC says whatever I think of myself - I am already not a person –like a mountain cant change into the sea- the truth is I cant change the half of me. SS asks what do you want to live as now. KC says I cant think of that cuz I’m not this side or that side and just half. SS says something deep about how a man only needs a friend to share his thoughts, a loved one to share his heart, and a country he is willing to protect with his life-with those things you can call it the best life. KC says the way he is now no one will share his thoughts or share his heart cuz inside his body dirty blood flows. SS says didnt i already tell you-among the people I call human i saw them do terrible things.  what decides that you are human isnt the blood that runs thru your body – just what kind of person you live as. I will ask again – what will you live as now. what do you want to live as
YW is pacing as KC goes out. YW asks what happened. what did he say. why? did you hear admonishments. did you get into a lot of trouble? he asks why are you so good to me. YW: just cuz for your sake I want to do anything – that is my heart now. KC remembers his answer to SS– I want to become human – not this half but whole. I want to become a person. he sobbed saying that so SS takes his hand and cries with him. KC looks at him and cries some more.
M is alive in the woods and comes to. he looks at his wounds and it’s healed. KC took that knife and cut his hand and spilled his blood on M. M asks what are you doing now. KC: I don’t know too why I am doing this for someone like you. in the past I did this for someone and saved a person so whether this works on your or not we have to wait and see. blue lights come and heal M. M faints. M remembers and looks at the fire KC made for him. M laughs and cries cuz he is healed.
GW is drinking when SB says I brought CJ. GW says come in. she is dressed nicely and dragged over to him. she glares at him as he asks her to pour. she says I don’t want to. he says I am giving you an order not a request. she says whatever the order I wont follow it. I don’t want to. he says even talk about your brother – do you not want it. I have a deal for you tonight -whether you follow that or not determines your brother’s fate tm morning. pour. so she does but he puts the cup down and pulls her close. he says be mine tonight – if you become mine I will be yours. she says let go please let go. he pulls her into his arms and asks what she is trying to protect acting like this - her body or dignity. she says you killed my parents – I rather die than go thru this. he says you think your parents died for your sake – no- your father died saving KC- your mother threw you away and chose suicide-who will protect you-  only have yourself to protect you. for the sake of living- throw away what you can and save what you can. the greed to live – it’s not embarrassing/shameful. it’s only natural.  she says to let go of her. he says be mine and I will be yours. he knocks down the candle as he attacks her
TS wakes up in jail looking startled and in pain
a fragile flower drops from a tree and floats down onto the water
next morning YW goes to see her dad. she smiles and and asks did you sleep well father. you came out early. did you eat breakfast. he ignores her. he says why – KC has a fate you cant handle – he cant be human. she says if they find in the gu book he could become human. when he becomes a person his fate will change too and the monk’s predictions- cuz of a future that hasnt happened yet – the reality in front of me now I don’t want to live avoiding it. I am going to face it with more confidence.  to live like that- you taught me that up to now father. at a loss for words, he sighs deeply
KC sits in the room and looks at his bracelet. he remembers how YW took his hand and said I wont stay back – no matter what. how he asked why she is so good to him and how she said I want to do everything for your sake cuz that’s my heart now
CJ dresses and looks dead inside. SB says I brought TS. she looks over at GW. he says no need to be embarrassed cuz you saved your brother’s life. TS comes in as she tries to leave. he asks why are you here. GW says cant you see - your sister did something to save you. TS asks CJ you didn’t. he cries and she does too. she runs out as he calls out her name. TS looks at GW and says I will kill you. he grabs a sword  to kill GW but SB knocks him down. SB says what should I do lord. TS says I will kill you. GW says you have a lot of anger for someone who doesnt have strength. this is my last chance for you. find out what SS is using the 5000 nyang for – if you disappoint me this time too – what your sister will pay will be way worse. he walks out and leaves TS to stare at where his sister spent the night. TS sobs on the floor
CJ walks thru the door and other gisaengs are there. WS tells her to stop. how dare you go outside without permission. CJ glares at her. CJ: it was said my lot in life could blossom anew like a spring flower. if that happens -what will happen to the main gisaeng (meaning CJ could rise in position and be ahead of WS)
SR hears CJ came back. maid says she came in on her own two feet. CJ enters. SR asks what happened – where were you. CJ you said I could have a dream – can I believe what you said that this really isnt the end. SR asks what happened. CJ says I will become the nagee (the drummer) – to become one and I want to live my life again.
TS goes back to the school. students watch him walk by and so does KC.
PJ catches TS when he falls. PJ asks what happened. TS cries as KC comes over to the door and remembers how TS said I came to cut your throat KC. how MS told KC with his dying breath – don’t forget you were like my son protect TS and CJ. KC was about to go but that memory keeps him from leaving and he makes a fist
TS says I wanted to resemble father and be like him so if I try I thought I thought one day I would become someone like father but in a world without father here I’ve been weak and pathetic. this is all I could become so I hate myself so much I could die. PJ: are you the one who made KC turn into the creature.  KC asks how much longer will a guy go around crying. huh? he goes over and says look at me. TS say I don’t want to. go away. KC grabs him and says: look at me directly – what are you so scared of that you cant look at me properly –why? cuz I might turn into a monster again and hurt you? or is it cuz of that spell everytime you look at me? what are you so afraid of?  please look at me TS – you have to look at me directly so I can show myself properly to you – what happened to me – why I became that monster – how afraid I am now – how terribly lonely I am – I want to tell someone that – and the person I can tell that is just you so please look at me TS. look at me directly. TS cries and then he does. he punches KC over and over. YW calls out KC as TS keeps beating KC. her dad puts up his hand for her to stay there. TS finally stops and KC says friends face each other like this TS. TS holds his last punch and gets on his knees sobbing. KC kneels and holds his shoulder and sort of hugs him so TS can cry on his shoulder.
gong says KC’s heart broke the hypnosis on TS. sincerity is power -it’s stronger than anything else. what are you going to do now. PJ says I have to prepare for GW so no more will cry cuz of him. gong says you are saying something I like hearing. he brings up Sabungja ( a group of men I think)
GW gets a report from SB about the men gathering to support SS. how GW heard about them in the past – there are four of them. they couldn’t be found but SB says they are  helping SS. GW says sabungja and KC. choi says guests came and hands over a napkin
YW puts down a bag next to KC. he asks what it is. she says her father gave an order for KC’s management to start from today. KC asks you are going to manage me. Gon comes over and says me too. KC asks what do you want me to do with these beans. she says from now on count how many total are in the bag. KC: what? YW: you said you want to become a person so do that with a happy heart cuz it’s the first task – got that? gon grins
GW goes out to greet a japanese entourage. he greets some guy and says now you came – I waited. the guy shows the woman inside. her face is not visible
KC is counting and at 1230 something but YW asks about his real mom -how she passed away. do you know anything at all. he lost count so she says sorry. he starts over
GW asks who is the person who came with you. he is told she is the wife of someone japanese who passed away. only her lips are visible under her hat.
there is a gust of wind and KC says what is that. he senses something in the air. YW: what?
in the woods, WR’s gravesite starts to wither and scary red eyes pop open.
KC spills all the beans and stares off in the distance.
